Man in rollover crash goes to hospital and jail Submitted: 06/07/2014

PINE LAKE - A Rhinelander man ended up in the hospital and jail after a car he allegedy stole rolled over Friday night.

It happened on Highway C in the town of Pine Lake near Rhinelander. The Oneida County Sheriff's Office doesn't know what caused the car to roll over. The Sheriff's Office says the man did hit a stop sign.

The sheriff says he faces charges of hit and run and operating a vehicle without owners consent.

The owners of the car were notified about what happened Friday night.

The man's boat was found near the dam east of Highway O.

The man was found dead inside.

He had been alone in the boat, and foul play is not suspected.

MILWAUKEE - A Milwaukee mother whose car was stolen with her infant strapped in the back seat says she held onto the vehicle for as long as she could as the carjackers drove away.

The woman was dragged down the street in Milwaukee Monday and eventually lost her grip. But what happened next was unexpected. The car stopped about a block away. And, one of the two carjackers got out, removed the 1-month-old baby, still in his car seat, and left him at the curb.

Surveillance video from a nearby house shows the mother running to retrieve her baby, who wasn't hurt.

Police are looking for the carjackers and the vehicle.
