Packers running back makes visit to RhinelanderSubmitted: 04/21/2014

RHINELANDER - Over the weekend, the Packers Tailgate Tour ended with a stop in Merrill on Saturday.

Monday afternoon, the Northwoods featured a visit from another Green Bay Packer.

Running back DuJuan Harris was at Rhinelander G-M. DuJuan had a meet and greet with about 50 people. Folks asked him questions, had their picture taken and of course grabbed an autograph or two.

Harris missed all of last year with a knee injury.


Harris was actually working at a car dealership in Jacksonville when he got the call from the Packers during the 2012 season.

Now life has come full-circle for Harris.

"I don't mind having people get to know me a little bit," Harris explains. "I'm a people-person. I just looking at as hanging out and having a good time."

"This is a great opportunity to bring someone who is not normally out here," Rhinelander GM's digital marketing director Jo Hettwer adds. "To geenerate some excitement about the Packers and the nice weather. Also it's a chance to let everyone who purchases a vehicle we value them as a guest and as a friend in the community."

Harris also signed mini-helmets, footballs, jerseys, and other items which will be donated to area charities. The estimated value of the items is between $6 and $10-thousand dollars.

WOODRUFF - A car driving the wrong way on Highway 47 west of Woodruff hit another car this morning.

An 86-year-old Lac du Flambeau man was driving south in the northbound lane.

He hit a car driven by an 87-year-old woman.

The man and his passenger, an 87-year-old woman, were taken to Howard Young Medical Center.

Their injuries aren't life threatening.

RHINELANDER - A Woodruff man faces multiple charges for allegedly driving drunk, stealing and damaging property.

The criminal complaint says police got a call last Monday.

Timothy Brewster was allegedly knocking stuff off shelves at Minocqua's Walmart.

Security video from Walmart shows Brewster driving his car into a cart corral.

The video also shows him stumbling and knocking items from the shelf on the floor.

Brewster fought with officers when they tried to arrest him.

WHITEWATER - The Antigo marching band took third place at state on Saturday. The competition was held in Whitewater.

The marching band had a successful season this year. The band won first place at four competitions.

This was the 13th year the band has gone to state. Last year they took second.

Northwoods schools like MHLT hope students learned from a traveling theatre group today.

All of their students attended a short play by the group, CLIMB Theatre.
