Hodag makes "unofficial" visit with BadgersSubmitted: 04/09/2014
Story By Joe Dufek

RHINELANDER - Right now Hodag sophomore Luke Roberts is part of Rhinelander's track and field team.

But recently he made a trip to Madison because of his play in another sport.

Roberts made a visit with the Wisconsin Badgers football team.
It was the second time he was in Madison. Neither one is considered an official visit.

Roberts is a tight end and linebacker with the Hodags.

He started every game last year for Rhinelander.

Luke said the Badgers encouraged him to keep working on his size and speed. Both are expected to help his forte - blocking as a tight end.

Although it's still very early to even make a final decision - the chance to potentially play for the team you have watched as a kid is pretty cool.

"I just love the facilities and the coaching staff," Roberts explains. "It's a great place to be... I watched them (the Badgers) since I was little. My grandfather is a big fan. My dad is a big fan. It's awesome."

Roberts has also been contacted by Michigan State, Yale, and Northwestern.
