Merrill ladies advance to sectionalsSubmitted: 03/08/2014

MERRILL - The ladies played for regional championships tonight. Merrill hosted Mosinee.

The Blue Jays knocked off Medford last night to advance and they came out strong in the first.

Renee Sladek kicks it out to Dawn Leland and she sinks the triple to put Merrill up early.

Reegan Byer passes it down low to Anna Finnell she drops it in- the Blue Jays on a 7-0 run to open the game.

After a timeout, the Indians responded. Rochelle Koshalek takes it herself and lays it in to make it a one point game.

But the Blue Jays started to pull away. Check out the fast break back to Sladek. Both Sladek and Leland finished with 16.

And Merrill wins their 2nd regional title in three years. 53-32 the final.
