Moore out as Hodags football coach
RHINELANDER - After producing just 22 victories in 10 seasons, Jim Moore will not return as
Rhinelander's football coach this fall.

Moore has been "relieved of his duties" according to sources.

On Monday, Moore informed his assistant coaches about the decision.

During Monday night's school board meeting at Rhinelander High School, no action
was taken on the matter.

All of the coaches are one one-year contracts which need to be renewed.

Rhinelander activities director Brian Paulson said Moore would remain with the
school as a physical education teacher and continue as an assistant coach with
the Hodag track and field team this school year.

Moore expressed interest in coaching for another school. However, he is also
still weighing his options.

After producing the team's first playoff appearance in 25 years in 2012,
Rhinelander finished with just one victory last season.

Moore led Wittenberg-Birnamwood to a state championship in 1997.
