Rhinelander boys hockey, Tomahawk wrestling earn wins
TOMAHAWK - In boys hockey Thursday night, Tomahawk had a home battle against Rhinelander.

Three goals were scored in the first period. First Rhinelander's Chris Hagen scored a 5-on-3 power play goal for the Hodags.

Tomahawk's Jacob Panzer scored the first of his three goals to tie the game at 1-1.

Then just minutes later, Alex Ungerer had some open ice and scored to put the Hatchets up 2-1 after the first period.


The Hatchets led by one after two periods. But the Hodags rallied with 3 goals in the third. Rhinelander won 7-5.

Meanwhile, in wrestling Thursday night Tomahawk hosted Antigo.

The Hatchets won the match 64-18. Tomahawk remains undefeated in the Great Northern Conference. They are (12-2) in duels. They host Rhinelander next week for a big conference showdown.

CHIPPEWA FALLS - CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (AP) " A former Chippewa Falls science teacher has been sentenced to six years in prison for the sexual assault of a student.

Joel Jahnke had pleaded no contest to three felony counts, including second degree sexual assault of a child. The victim was 13 years old when she was assaulted.

MADISON - MADISON, Wis. (AP) " Madison police say a 52-year-old man is dead after a stabbing in an apartment.

Officers were called to a four-unit building on West Badger Road about 5:30 a.m. Saturday. The victim was dead at the scene. Police say he was stabbed multiple times.
