Big Ol' Fish - Jan 9Submitted: 01/09/2014
Story By Joe Dufek

- Luke Dietz of Butternut was fishing with his dad and older brother out on a Bayfield county lake recently. Luke caught his biggest Largemouth bass. This trophy measured 21 inches and weighed 5 1/2 pounds. He was using a shiner on a tip up. 5 other nice bass were caught by the trio. I'm told the meal was fantiastice.

Jay Wickie of Irma was fishing on a very foggy day on Lake Alice recently. While using a tip-up, Jay caught a 22 1/2 inch smallmouth bass. It was the biggest one he's caught so far this season. HE was using a shiner on a tip up. After the picture, the fish was released.

And Drew Prtizl spent part of his free time over the holidays on a Sugar Camp area lake. Check out this 28.5 inch Walley he reeled in. It weighed 9 pounds. It was caught on a tip-up. Drew said it was both a lot of fun and a lot of work getting him through the hole.
