Wis. job creation agency launches new TV campaignSubmitted: 01/04/2014

MADISON - Wisconsin's job creation agency is gearing up to launch a new television ad campaign in Minnesota and Illinois designed to lure businesses to the Dairy State.

Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation officials say two ads will begin running Monday on CNN, CNBC and Fox News in the Twin Cities, Chicago and Rockford.

The 30-second spots feature Wisconsin business executives talking up the state's workforce and how the state government is creating helpful policies for businesses.

The ads are expected to cost about $537,000.

Republican Gov. Scott Walker, who created WEDC, has been trying to coax Illinois businesses to Wisconsin since he took office in 2011, angering Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn.

The ads say nothing about Minnesota or Illinois, however. WEDC officials say they wanted to stay positive and focus on Wisconsin.
