Rhinelander Lions Club need hunters helpSubmitted: 11/21/2013
Story By Joe Dufek

RHINELANDER - Area deer hunters can help physically challenged children have some fun.

The Rhinelander Lions Club is collecting deer hides or carcuses. The money raised from the deer hides allow the kids to go to a camp in Rosholt.

The hides can be dropped off at Hodag Gun and Loan on Lincoln Street.

This is the 12th year of the fund-raiser. It raised more than $4000 last year.

"I've had two nephews go to the camp," Lions Club member Tom O'Rourke explains. "It helps out the kids that need help go to the camp."

"This year the Lions Club didn't have a place to go," Hodag Gun & Loan owner Mike Hoerchler said. "We just thought it would be for a good cause."

The nine-day firearms season gets underway on Saturday.
