Finley tells story of injurySubmitted: 10/29/2013
Story By Joe Dufek

GREEN BAY - Packers tight end Jermichael Finley is recovering from a spinal cord contusion.

It happened on a tackle in Green Bay's last home game against Cleveland.

The injury is expected to heal.

In a Sports Illustrated article released on Tuesday, Finley gave a first-hand account of his injury and the fears he experienced.

Finley explains, "It all happened very quickly. I remember seeing the defender out of the corner of my eye, and I intentionally lowered my head and shoulders to protect my knees... I looked my teammate Andrew Quarless directly in the eye and whispered, 'Help me, Q. I can't move; I can't breathe.' The scariest moment was seeing the fear in Q's eyes. I knew something was wrong... That really shook me up."

He also said he plans on returning from the injury.
