Small plane crash in Marathon County, no injuries

HATLEY - A small plane crashed around 2 p.m. Sunday afternoon in eastern Marathon County near Highway 29.

Lt. Goch of the Marathon County Sheriff's Department says the small personal plane went down close to Highway 29 and County Highway Y, near Hatley.

Lt. Goch says no one was injured in the crash.

RHINELANDER - Food pantries all over the country help to build hunger free communities.

One Northwoods food pantry is celebrating a huge milestone it reached earlier this month.

The Rhinelander Area Food Pantry has distributed more than five million pounds of food in its twelve years of operation.

That comes out to about five tons of food going out the doors each week. 

"Five million pounds of food is unreal. It's…the community has been wonderful. This community has always supported us, not only with money and with donations, but with volunteers," said Treasurer Ginger Chrobak.

RHINELANDER - Those looking for jobs in manufacturing don't have to go to a big city to get a job. There are a lot of opportunities right here in the Northwoods.

Nicolet College held a manufacturing expo with both educators and employers Wednesday to show the community what opportunities are available in the field.

"It's just a really good opportunity to see what the education pathway looks like for manufacturing, but then also that end game at the very end to see what the sacrifice was worth when you look at employment opportunities," said Nicolet College Career Coach Angeline Kesler.
