MARATHON CO. - One person died after being shot while hunting in Marathon County.

The Marathon County Sheriff's Department says a 29-year-old squirrel hunter was killed when another hunter shot him.

It happened in the Township of Halsey Sunday just after 9 am.

The man died at the scene.

His name has not yet been released.

The Marathon County Sheriff's Department and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources are investigating.

It's the second hunting accident in Marathon County in a week.

A 20-year-old man was shot and wounded last week while hunting in Kronenwetter.
