- It's a new week in high school sports. Time to shake off the wins and losses and get back to work for the next game.

But here is where some of the best performances are recognized. Time to check out our nominees for the Newswatch 12 Player of the Week.

NOMINEE 1

The Lakeland football team earned their first win last week. Brett Hunter had 2 interceptions for the T-Birds in their shutout win over Rhinelander.



NOMINEE 2

Laona/Wabeno volleyball team picked up a big win at Goodman last week. Mesa Geiter led the Rebels with 15 kills.

NOMINEE 3

Back to football, Medford quarterback Austin Salzgeber threw for 126 yards and 2 touchdowns against Merrill. The Raiders earned a huge victory over the Bluejays.

NOMINEE 4

In volleyball, Rhinelander's Lexi Haug had 41 set assists as Rhinelander defeated Lakeland. It was the Hodags conference opener.
