Police describe Park Falls murder suspect as unremorsefulSubmitted: 08/30/2013

PARK FALLS - We now know what William Rambo told police the night he killed his wife.

Rambo and his wife lived in a house in Park Falls.

But his wife, Dawn, kicked him out.

He stayed out for six weeks.

But Rambo told police he went back to their house August 22.

He wanted to talk about their current living situation.

He said his wife told him she didn't care and that it was his problem.

They later got into a confrontation.

He grabbed her around the neck and started "slashing" her as she tried to walk out.

They started fighting on the couch and fell to the floor, but he doesn't know how he cut her.

His told Park Falls police "I got nothing to hide. I did what I did. It is what it is."

Rambo is expected back in court October 1st.

MADISON - Adults who allow teenagers to drink in their homes would be breaking the law under a new bill two Republican lawmakers are circulating.

Current law prohibits adults from allowing underage drinkers to consume alcohol in premises owned by the adults or under their control. But a state appeals court ruling last year narrowly interpreted "premises" to refer only to licensed establishments such as liquor stores or bars.

MADISON - The Legislature's finance committee is set to take up a package of bills designed to curb opioid addiction.

Republican Rep. John Nygren has written 11 bills based on recommendations from Gov. Scott Walker's opioid task force. Walker called a special legislative session in January to pass the bills. The finance committee is expected to vote on seven of the proposals Monday.

MENOMONIE - The Minnesota man accused of killing a University of Wisconsin-Stout student from Saudi Arabia has pleaded not guilty to charges.

Cullen Osburn is charged with felony murder and aggravated battery in the death of Hussain Saeed Alnahdi. The 24-year-old student died from a brain injury last October following an altercation in downtown Menomonie.

RHINELANDER - Rhinelander firefighters responded to a house fire off Boyce Drive early Sunday. The department got the call around noon.

Pine Lake and Pelican fire also responded. Firefighters say when they arrived they could see smoke coming out of the roof.

MERRILL - A group in Merrill wants to revamp the city's dog park. Saturday the Merrill Dog Park Friends hosted a fundraiser for the upgrades.

The fundraiser was held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church. 10 local vendors participated. Members of the dog park group say it's important to make improvements.

MADISON - Wisconsin officials are working to determine how to improve the statewide emergency communications network and who will pay for it.

Wisconsin Public Radio reports the Wisconsin Interoperable System for Communications allows public safety agencies to communicate with one another across the state, and sometimes coverage can be spotty. The state hired a consultant last year to examine networks in surrounding states and provide recommendations for maintaining Wisconsin's system.
