Deadline soon for disabled deer huntSubmitted: 08/16/2013

MADISON - Hunters who need a little help can get it.

Wisconsin wildlife officials are reminding disabled hunters to find sponsors by the end of August.

That's so they can participate in a special fall deer hunt.

The Department of Natural Resources plans to hold its annual deer hunt for the disabled from October 5th through October 13th.website.

Hunters must sign up with a sponsor by September 1st to participate.

Sponsors can be property owners willing to allow disabled hunters on their land.

A sponsor can also be someone willing to get permission from a landowner to let a disabled hunter onto the property.

Hunters can find a list of sponsors on the DNR's website.

RHINELANDER - Kids these days don't learn like older generations did—they rely on technology.

Some Rhinelander teachers went to school Tuesday to learn about tools like coding and green screens. It's part of a week-long even called Hodag Tech Fest at James Williams Middle School.

It's the second year the school district has hosted the forum for classroom technology, and about 90 Rhinelander teachers and administrators will attend throughout the week. Some of the seminars cover iPads, Chromebooks, Smart Boards and coding.
