Packers LB Robinson enters Hall of FameSubmitted: 08/03/2013
Story By Associated Press

CANTON, OH - Dave Robinson is the latest member of Vince Lombardi's championship Green Bay Packers to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Robinson was a part of three NFL championships under Lombardi, including the first two Super Bowls. He first became eligible for the hall in 1980 and waited more than three decades before being elected as a senior nominee.

Presented Saturday night by his son, David, Robinson was a prototype outside linebacker who could rush the quarterback, cover tight ends or running backs on pass plays, and stop the run. He made the NFL's All-Decade team of the 1960s.

After 10 seasons with the Packers, he closed out his career with two seasons in Washington. Robinson made three Pro Bowls.

He's the 12th Packer from Lombardi's era to make the hall, including the coach.

RHINELANDER - It is the final countdown to the start of the school year.

In just two days school buses will be filled with kids, ready and eager to learn.

Before the buses get flooded with kids, United Way wants to Stuff the Bus, with donated school items, so every kid can start the school year with a full back pack.

"It's important that every child starts the school year on the same footing as everybody else and has all the supplies that they need," said Northwoods United Way director Nancy Sattler.

MINOCQUA - Three local cyclists planned to bike in the Ride Across Wisconsin event just for fun this year, but a few days before the ride, a good friend of theirs became unexplainably sick. In that moment, the purpose of their ride changed.

"This is nothing. This is a day. This is an hour, a minute that I can keep going," said cyclist Connie Trapp.

For Trapp, riding 178 miles was a small hurdle compared to the struggle of a close friend.

"Just having somebody to ride it for and be encouraged that you're doing it for someone else besides yourself really helped," said Trapp.
