- 15 year old Max Semrow of Eagle River was fishing recently on a private lake in Oneida County. While using a rubber worm on a hook, he got a strike. When he reeled in his prize, he landed this 21 inch Large mouth bass - the biggest one he's ever caught. It weighed 5 pounds. After the picture the fish was released.
Olivia Woolf of Manitowish Waters was fishing with her mom and brother, when she had quite a day. While fishing on a nearby lake, Olivia caught this beautiful sunfish. Not to be outdone, she also hauled in a 10 inch large mouth bass. I'm told she was using special green eyed night crawlers on her Barbie fishing poll. Both were released after a quick picture.
And Tomahawk's Toni Russo caught this 10 1/2 inch Blue Gill on the Elk River near Phillips. She was using a night crawler for bait. This one proved to be part of a very good meal.
RHINELANDER - Looking back on his 28 years as airport director, Joe Brauer says he has a lot to be proud of.
"When we got the disabled passenger lift, the non-motorized one, we were very, very proud of that," said Brauer, who's worked as the airport director for 28 years. He's also been in the airline business for 20 years.
Now, the longtime Rhinelander-Oneida County Airport director will be passing things off to a familiar face.
