Five year sentence in Marathon County crash deathSubmitted: 07/26/2013
Story By Associated Press

WAUSAU - Killing his girlfriend while driving drunk will cost a La Crosse man five years in prison.

Tyler Deal was sentenced in Marathon County yesterday.

22 year old Paige Delo died in the crash.

She was the mother of two young girls.

Her friends and family offered tearful testimony.

Delo's father, Scott Delo, told the judge Deal's decision to drive while intoxicated caused unbearable pain for both families.

The 22-year-old Deal lost control of his car and crashed into a utility pole in the town of Spencer in February 2012.

Prosecutors say Deal was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.

Deal will also serve nine years of extended supervision.
