Former T-Bird skier Bolger signs with UtahSubmitted: 07/11/2013

MINOCQUA - Most high school graduates go straight to college, but for Kevin Bolger, he had to wait a couple years. The Lakeland alum needed that time to perfect his craft.

Kevin spent the last 2 years in Sun Valley, Idaho training for nordic skiing. The post graduate program helped him increase his speed. It also gave him the chance to compete at a high level.

Bolger recently signed with the University of Utah. He's one of only 5 skiers invited to the program, and only 2 of them are American.

Many European skiers come to the states to go to college. That leaves even fewer spots available. So Kevin is thrilled to be going to the school of his choice.

"They're a good team, they're in the Pac-12 - a good conference," Bolger says. "They have a couple (ten) of NCAA Championships. i know that was the team to be on out west."
