APPLETON - Some athletes who have a ways to go before graduating competed in the Summer Shootout soccer tourney in Appleton over the weekend. Over 130 teams took part and one of our local groups took first.

The under 10 boys team from Eagle River won their bracket beating Wausau United Lightning 6-1 in today's final game.

Over the weekend Trevor Romatoski scored 8 goals and Sam Gremban added 4. In goal Colby Kruse was solid with 38 saves for the tournament. The boys held the teams they played to only 2 goals over the weekend. Very nice job!
