Wausau East wins Second Sectional Boys Tennis TitleSubmitted: 05/23/2013
Story By Joe Dufek

STEVENS POINT - Believe it or not, sectionals are going on in several sports. That's despite a long winter.

One team going is Wausau East. The Lumberjack boys tennis team won their sectional for just the second time ever.

Stevens Point hosted the D-1 sectional on Wednesday.

The last time Wausau East won the team title was 1995.

#2 singles player Simeon Nikolov won the sectional and is off to Madison. Also qualifying were Conrad Felton at #1 singles, and East's #1 doubles team of Justin Strom and Gunthar Reising.

Other D-1 qualifiers include Antigo's #2 doubles. Joe Novak and Brian Bartletti won their sectional. Bradley Leutschwager from Stevens Point is also in at #1 singles. The #1 doubles for SPASH also headed to Madison. Trenton Seegert and Noah Meier make up SPASH's #1 doubles team.
