Convicted felon on run from Lincoln Co. Sheriff's DeputiesSubmitted: 05/15/2013

MERRILL - Ask yourself if you've seen this man. 36-year-old Christopher Meindel is on the run. Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies want to catch him.

Meindel was convicted of making and selling methamphetamine. He had been living on probation in Merrill.

Meindel went in for a regular meeting with his parole agent yesterday. When asked to provide a urine sample, Meindel refused and ran away.

Police think he might have cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet. He might have fled to the Baraboo area where he was traveling for work.

MADISON - Wisconsin could force drunk drivers to pay in more money to support SafeRide Home programs in the state.

Earlier this week, we told you the state was planning to kick in less money to support county SafeRide Home programs. The program offers free taxi rides home from bars.

A proposal passed by a Capitol committee on Thursday night could help SafeRide Home.

It would add a $50 surcharge to some OWI offenses. That money would go back into SafeRide Home programs.

The proposal is part of the state budget, which has yet to become law.
