RHINELANDER - Now's the time of year when we open up the windows and roll down that convertible top. But what if glass is broken or upholstery is ripped? There's a new business where you can get it fixed.

Steve's Glass and Upholstery had it's grand opening today. The Rhinelander business is on the corner of Kemp and Keenan streets. The owner, Steve Montalto, says he started the business because he wanted to help the elderly with home repairs.

"Definitely need work but they're on fixed incomes. So if they can provide the funds to buy the merchandise, I can do the labor on a payment plan," says Steve Montalto, Business Owner.

Montalto isn't new to the business. He has been working in the industry since he was a teenager. He also had the same business in Illinois. But his move to the Northwoods wasn't just for work.

"It's the people. They're amazingly the nicest people I've ever met. I felt welcome from the day I came here. It's much, much more relaxing."

Montalto says he loves the location of his business and he was already busy this morning.

LAND O' LAKES - The Phelps community came together Saturday to turn tragedy into something positive.

"Mrs. Johnson was always one of our favorite teachers, you could go to her about anything like troubles at home or bullying, and she'd always be there for us so it's really nice to give back to her," said Phelps 8th grader Alexandria Myszka.

Kim Johnson works as the music teacher at Phelps Middle School. After her husband D.J. was hurt in an accident last month, he's now paralyzed from the waist down.

But the community decided to help the family.

"Originally, this was our 8th grade class fundraiser, but after we heard about Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, we decided to donate all of the proceeds to them," said Myszka.

The Phelps 8th graders hosted a breakfast fundraiser at The Sunrise Lodge in Land O' Lakes. More than 300 people came out in support.
