Mosinee, Chequamegon, Laona/Wabeno among #1 Softball Seeds
- Rain is falling in most of the viewing area. Perfect weather to talk about softball playoffs.

The WIAA released the pairings for three of the four divisions.

Division One will be announced after the coaches meeting next week.

In Division 2, Mosinee is the top seed in their regional.

Meanwhile Northland Pines is a 5 seed. The Eagles are in Antigo next Thursday. The winner will meet Mosinee.


Phelps earned a 5 seed in a Division 4 regional. The Lady Knights are at Goodman-Pembine. The winner takes on the #1 seed Wausaukee.

Chequamegon, and Laona/Wabeno earned #1 spots in Division 3. Newman Catholic is also a #1 seed in Division 4.

LA CROSSE - A jury in La Crosse County found a man guilty of fatally beating his wife and trying to conceal her death by staging a car accident.

The jury deliberated more than nine hours before finding Todd Kenhammer guilty of first degree intentional homicide, according to the Lacrosse Tribune .

RHINELANDER - The first batch of showed up at Rhinelander Brewery Thursday.
This moves Rhinelander a step closer to brewing beer here for the first time since the 1960s.
Thursday the brewery got its brew kettle, six fermenters and a storage tank.

The brewery will have a ten tap system and wants five of the beers to be made in Rhinelander.
The rest will come from a brewery in Monroe that currently brews its beer.
"Really excited that it's coming to fruition and the people have been waiting a long time for us to be making beer here. We're going to make some small batch craft beer," said Rhinelander Brewery gift shop manager Brenda O' Rourke.

RHINELANDER - Oneida County Circuit Judge Michael Bloom apparently didn't appreciate a standoff suspect's letter to him.

Mathew Smith, 21, wrote Bloom requesting a speedy trial, saying he "will not stand for this."
