THE NORTHWOODS - Spring finally hit the Northwoods last weekend. Thousands of anglers were celebrating an unofficial holiday - the inland fishing opener. Lakes and rivers were busy. Some even got in some ice fishing. However, the cold water temps made the fishing slow.
Golf courses are opening 2 weeks later than usual. But not everyone is getting a late start. Eagle River Speedway was behind on prep work, but next week's opener is actually a week early.
MANITOWISH WATERS - People wanting to get into the holiday spirit didn't need to look further than Manitowish Waters.
Saturday was the 8th annual Festival of Trees.
The event raised money for the Frank B. Koller Memorial Library.
"We are offering businesses to come in and decorate a tree and it's a festive way to recognize local area businesses plus raise money for the library," said Koller Memorial Library director Janelle Kohl.
