Child finds soda bottle full of meth in U.P. park
IRON RIVER, MI - Parks should be places our children can play safely. Finding a soda bottle filled with meth in a park? Doesn't sound very safe.

That happened in two separate spots Wednesday in Iron River, Michigan.

An eight-year-old child found a burst soda bottle with an unknown liquid in it at Bachman Park around 11:30 Wednesday morning.

Police found four other bottles filled with the same liquid at another nearby Iron River park. Narcotic specialists analyzed the bottles and found they contained methamphetamines.

The 8-year-old child was not hurt.

Michigan State Troopers will investigate the drugs.

With a recent change in state short-term rental laws, Oneida County worries about getting every place inspected.

Currently there are about 220 rentals in Oneida County that require an annual inspection from the Oneida County Health Department, with only three environmental health specialists to do so.

A new law makes it easier for people to rent their homes, which will likely add to their work load.
