WAUSAU - The man accused of attacking two Marathon County Jail officers, putting one in intensive care, faces three felony battery charges. But his lawyers claim he attacked because of a mental disorder.
20-year-old Fredrick Morris was in court today to enter a not guilty plea.
Prosecutors say Morris attacked two guards March 27th when he was supposed to go back into his cell, but refused.
Next for Morris, a doctor will assess him to determine if he really has a mental disorder. That will likely happen by the next pretrial conference, June 7th. Morris is still in jail on a cash bond.
CRANDON - Terri Burl wanted to ask more questions than make comments during Congressman Sean Duffy's town hall in Crandon on Thursday.
"Everybody's in the state of the unknown right now," Burl said.
Burl, a Republican, was thinking of her 26-year-old son in Oshkosh as she asked Duffy (R-Wausau) about health care concerns. She worries about tax penalties for her uninsured son and the GOP's lack of solid ideas to replace the Affordable Care Act.
