Cause of Peep's Pawn Shop Fire UndeterminedSubmitted: 05/06/2013
Story By Lane Kimble

ANTIGO - We may never know what caused the fire that destroyed a building near downtown Antigo earlier this spring.

Nothing remains of Peep's Pawn Shop, which stood on 5th Avenue in Antigo.

Crews recently finished tearing the building down and clearing away the rubble.

Fire damaged the building beyond repair March 20th.

It was the second day in a row fire crews were called there.

The first fire was caused by a hot plate, but was put out quickly.

There were also several apartments in the building. No one was injured in either fire.

Antigo Fire Chief Jon Petroskey tells us the damage was so bad, they couldn't determine the cause of the second fire.

The investigation is now closed.
