MERRILL - A home for all its treasures.

A million dollar museum will open soon in Merrill.

History lovers unveiled the new History and Culture Center.

This $1.2 million museum has been added to the back of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

History Society President, Bea Lebal says they still have a long way to go.

"Now we are at the point where we'll be moving into this building, setting up exhibits and that's going to take a long time," Lebal said.

"That's going to take weeks, that's going to take months planning, preparation and work."

Senator Tom Tiffany thinks this is not only a good way to learn Merrill's history, but it's valuable for the future.

"It gives a historical sense. It recreates that historical narrative here at Merrill so the people know where the city has come from and how it got to this point and I think that's always valuable." said Senator Tiffany.

Organizers hope a fundraising campaign called "The Time Has Come" will raise and additional $250,000 to complete the entire project.
