Toxicology tests confirm driver high on heroin before deadly crashSubmitted: 04/18/2013
Story By Lane Kimble

WAUSAU - Police confirmed Thursday what many suspected: heroin use led directly to the crash that killed a man and severely injured a boy in Wausau last month.

24-year-old Michael Dixon died March 23rd when his car crashed into a bridge support on Thomas Street.

Police found an uncapped syringe, spoon and a lighter in the car. They were waiting on toxicology tests to determine if Dixon was high on heroin at the time of the crash. They also think speed played a factor.

Dixon's 4-year-old son was in the car and severely injured.

A Facebook page dedicated to the boy says he had brain surgery and is still recovering.

We'll have a link to that Facebook page below.
