Upgrades Planned for Wausau BallparkSubmitted: 04/16/2013

WAUSAU - Wausau will soon have a nicer place to watch a ballgame.

The Wisconsin Woodchucks plan a 2.7 million dollar renovation project at Athletic Park.

The plan also includes development of a neighborhood park next to the stadium.

The entire project will be paid for with private funds.

The Woodchucks and the MacDonald family are making the announcement, in partnership with the city of Wausau.

The project will include premium seating and two new luxury suites, as well as a new press box.

In future years, more work will be done.

That will include new bleachers, retail areas, concession stands and new group outing decks.

The city of Wausau and the MacDonald family are working on the neighborhood park next to the stadium.

You could find people zipped up in fleece jackets trying to find their way out of a corn maze Sunday. This is the 15th year Willow Springs Garden held its corn maze in the Town of Maine.

They started this to raise money to restore the old town hall.

"We wanted to restore it. Not for sure what we were going to use it for at first, but then the community kind of indicated to us that they want to use it," said Willlow Springs Garden Owner Peggy Griffin. "We created it to host family events, wedding, reunions, anniversaries are going on there today."
