LINCOLN COUNTY - Wisconsin saw 20 snowmobile related deaths this season.

But one Northwoods County is seeing their safest season in years.

Lincoln County's snowmobiling season was the longest and safest since 2003.

Only two crashes were reported with minor injuries.

Although crash numbers are down, the Lincoln County Recreation deputy says they were busy writing tickets.

Snowmobile OWI's were up, but the most common citation this season was failure to stop at stop signs.

Lincoln County's Recreation deputy hopes the safety trend continues into ATV season.

He says staying safe can be simple if riders obey signs, wear a helmet and avoid drinking and driving.

The state of Wisconsin saw an increase in snomobile fatalities this year, compared to other years.
