Big Ol' Fish - April 5Submitted: 04/05/2013
Story By Joe Dufek

- Not all of the neat fishing trips produce record catches. Sometimes, the more pleasurable times on the lake bring home some smaller catches.

But that doesn't mean it isn't just as rewarding.

Kim McLean of Wabeno had quite a day prch fishing at an area lake near Wabeno. The one on display was 10 1/2 inches. He was using a wiggler on a lig for bait. He says nothing beats fishing with his buddies in the Northwoods. I'm told when the day was done, he had a small cooler full of simialr sized perch.

Eagle River fishing guide Gary Myshak caught this 12 1/4 inch crappie on Columbus Lake near Sugar Camp. After the picture, this one was released to fight another day.

And for the bigger prize category this week, take a look at J.D. Brahm's prize from back in January. The Northern measured 36 inches. It was caught on a private lake in Vilas County. He was using a shiner on a tip up. J.D. says it was mighty tasty.
