Falcons Hockey Hosts Weekend League Tournament Submitted: 04/04/2013

EAGLE RIVER - An exciting weekend of hockey in Eagle River gets underway Friday morning.

The Eagle River Falcons host the annual Great Lakes Hockey League Tournament. It's the only adult-amateur league with full-contact checking. Most of the games will be played at the Eagle River Hockey Dome.

Action begins at 11am Friday morning. Eagle River plays their first game Friday night at 8:30pm at the Dome.

Semifinals are Saturday night. The Championship is Sunday afternoon.


The Falcons finished 5th in the 10 team league during the regular season.

EAGLE RIVER - Gavin Hoffman thinks he's pretty good at kickball.

"Yeah, I scored, like, three runs today," the 11-year-old said nonchalantly Friday morning.

But he knows winning isn't everything.

"Obviously we want to win, but it's not so bad if we don't win," Hoffman said.
