Governor Seeks Applicants for Marathon County SheriffSubmitted: 03/26/2013
Story By Newswatch 12 Newsteam

MADISON - Marathon County needs a new sheriff, and Governor Walker wants to know if you're interested.

Walker announced today he's looking for applicants for the job.

The Governor will appoint a new replacement for newly retired Sheriff Randy Hoenisch.

His official resignation comes after months of scrutiny.

Hoenisch was criticized for spending just two hours in his office in 2013.

He'd also been under fire for his wife Kim Hoenisch's criminal activity.

She was accused of stealing painkillers from parolees while working as a probation officer for the county.

The governor will appoint someone to fill the rest of the term Hoenisch had been elected to.

That term runs through January, 2015.

You can find an application for Marathon County sheriff on Governor Walker's website.
