Story By Joe Dufek

TOMAHAWK - In high school track and field last night, Tomahawk's Peter Pintens won the pole vault event. He soared 11'6". It was his first victory of the season.

He missed out on a trip to state last year. But he's put in alot of off-season practice in hopes of making it to LaCrosse for the state championships this year.

"It's a confidence booster, but I don't focus on my previous vaults," says the Hatchet junior. "I focus on the next one. The big goal is state - that's what I'm really looking forward to."
