Case Against Gov. Walker ClosedSubmitted: 03/02/2013
Story By CNN

MADISON - The case is closed and no charges will be filed ... at least not against Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.

The investigation began in 2010. It dug into allegations of illegal campaign activity by Walker's former aides and associates.

Some of Walker's close aides have been convicted of charges ranging from finance fraud to embezzlement.

"As many of you know and have reported in the past, we were the ones who originally raised concerns to the district attorney about Operation Freedom and concerns about how funds were concerned and the use of funds at that time. We're glad the process is done and I think the process speaks for itself," says Walker.

Through the investigation, Governor Walker maintained his innocence and he now says he's glad it's over.

Five people were charged and convicted during the investigation including Walker's former deputy chief of staff.
