Trial Underway for Man Accused of Starving DaughterSubmitted: 02/27/2013
Story By Associated Press

MADISON - The man accused of starving his teenage daughter in Dane county is standing trial now.

Chad Chritton is charged with six felonies, including false imprisonment and child neglect resulting in bodily harm.

A prosecutor told jurors yesterday that the15 year old girl weighed 68 pounds and looked more like an 8 or 10 year old.

A passer-by discovered the girl walking on a road near her home in February 2012.

The girl had scrapes on her face, her hair was dirty and matted and her bare feet were purple from exposure.

The defense told jurors Chritton had a hard time dealing with the girl's psychiatric issues and that she had threatened to kill him.
