MADISON - The state of Wisconsin is reworking its jobs site to make it easier for people to post resumes.
The Department of Workforce Development site has plenty of potential. State officials say it saw 6,500 more job listings last year than the year before.
Before, applicants had to put their resume data into a standard form. Now they can post their resume directly or link to an external site.
The department says it has been improving the site since its launch in 2008. Besides resume options, the latest improvements include letting users search jobs by keyword, create profiles of themselves that employers can search, and enabling social media.
MANITOWISH WATERS - People wanting to get into the holiday spirit didn't need to look further than Manitowish Waters.
Saturday was the 8th annual Festival of Trees.
The event raised money for the Frank B. Koller Memorial Library.
"We are offering businesses to come in and decorate a tree and it's a festive way to recognize local area businesses plus raise money for the library," said Koller Memorial Library director Janelle Kohl.
MINOCQUA - Cross Country skiing seems like itís just you and nature, but thereís actually a lot of manpower and big machinery involved.
The trails at Minocqua Winter Park open Friday. Employees got ready for the skiers starting Sunday.
ďThatís our roller. Thatís the first thing we do when we get a lot of snow we roll it and it knocks the air out of the snow and packs it down," said Eric Twito, one of the people who grooms the ski trails.
Preparing the snow makes the trails better for skiers.
