- We had several worthy nominees for our Newswatch 12 Player of the Week. Here are our four candidates for this week.
NOMINEE 1
In Girls basketball, Makayla Raith of Elcho had a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds against Goodman-Pembine. She also had 7 steals in the Lady Hornets victory.
NOMINEE 2
In boys basketball, Trent Heath also notched a double-double. He scored 29 points and added 10 rebounds against Whtie Lake. Heath scored his 1,000th career point in the Patriots win.
NOMINEE 3
In Wrestling, Tomahawk defended their GNC Title by winning last weekend's conference meet. State-ranked Austin Bellile was one of 5 wrerstlers to win his weight class.
NOMINEE 4
And back to girls hoops, Northland Pines senior Abby Alft scored 17 points against Antigo. She actually put up 46 point in 3 games to help keep the Eagles undefeated.
