Man Pleads No Contest in Bath Salt CaseSubmitted: 01/29/2013
Story By Shardaa Gray

RHINELANDER - The Rhinelander man accused of walking in the freezing cold with his infant son while high on bath salts wil face day jail time.

Patrick Dalka pleaded no contest to intentionally abusing a hazardous substance today.

Dalka's bond was reduced because he completed alcohol treatment.

He did ask for a probation, but the judge denied.

"There is no redeeming factor. There is no reason to adjust that," said Judge Patrick O'Melia.

"It's not a drug that has a purpose other than to screw up something blind at life. It's clearly a dangerous substance."

Dalka has been clean and sober for a year.

Judge O'Melia sentenced Dalka to 60 days in jail, but he'll only go for 10 because of credit for time served.
