Story By Shardaa Gray

LAC DU FLAMBEAU - Casinos usually make us think about spending all of our money, but this Casino in the Northwoods is doing just the opposite.

Lake of the Torches Resort Casino has donated over two thousand dollars to Northwoods United Way.

The money will go towards their hard work with helping people in Oneida, Vilas and Forest Counties.

Leana Schlecht is the Marketing Director at Lake of the Torches Casino.

She says the program has a general fund.

They focus on helping the residents with their living, housing and heating needs.

"Lake land torches donates to multiple charities throughout the year and knowing that Northwoods United Way is one of the larger ones that affect a tri-county area here, especially where lake of the torches is and vilas," said Schlecht.

"It was real important to us to make sure that money stayed here in our communities."

The donation will go in the organization's general fund.

Most of the fund will be used to help Northwoods residents with their basic living needs.
