Car Crashes in Snowy WeatherSubmitted: 12/06/2012
Story By Michael Crusan

TOWN OF CRESCENT - Snowfall around the Northwoods caused problems for drivers Thursday morning with a couple car crashes on Highway 8 South of Rhinelander.

Around 7:40 Thursday morning an SUV rolled over on Highway 8 near Detienne Road and injuries were reported.

The driver of this vehicle was removed and taken into an Oneida County Ambulance, their condition is unknown at this time.

Lt. Lloyd Gauthier of the Oneida County Sheriff's Department commented on this and another crash on Highway 8, "While enroot to that, a deputy came upon a second motor vehicle accident on Highway 8 and North Rifle Road. There were injuries there too. So in a short time period we had injuries in two motor vehicle accidents on Highway 8. So we just ask people to drive with caution."

The crash blocked traffic in both directions for more than 15 minutes as rescuers moved the driver onto a stretcher.

The crash at North Rifle Road involved two vehicles and one person was removed from their car on a stretcher.

The driver of that car contacted Newswatch 12 Thursday night. She lost her cell phone at the scene. If you happen to have found it there, please call her at 715-453-1996.
