Rep. Sean Duffy Wins 7th District Congressional Race Submitted: 11/07/2012
RHINELANDER - In the 7th congressional race Republican incumbent Sean Duffy beat out Democratic challenger Pat Kreitlow.

Duffy says he’s honored to serve the people of district 7 for two more years.

"I’m very pleased and honored that the folks in central and northern Wisconsin have voted to give me another two years in office. I’m going to keep working my heart out. I’ve don’t it the last two years making sure we do our mobile office, our town halls, our coffees with your congressman, and job fairs—all the things that have helped pave the way to this victory. I’m going to work even harder to put our hard working families back to work," said Duffy.

The first issue Congressman Duffy will tackle is ensuring taxes don’t go up.

Duffy said, "I don’t want taxes to go up on our families and our small businesses. People on both sides and economists on both sides of the aisle if they go up it could throw our economy into a tailspin. So we can’t let that happen."

While Congressman Duffy’s campaign celebrated their victory, Democratic challenger Pat Kreitlow took time to thank his supporters.

Kreitlow said, "Running for office at any level is extremely gratifying. All the people that will take the time to support you, encourage you, knock on doors, ring phones. So today I got to thank well over 100,000 people that came together to support this race. While we fell a little short we sent a message that Washington needs to get its act together and hopefully they’ll meet those challenges next year."

Duffy won all of the counties in our viewing area.
