Suport NATH at These Local BusinessesSubmitted: 11/06/2012
RHINELANDER - Next week people around the country will celebrate national Hunger and Homeless Awareness week. But the Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing is designating the whole month of November for the cause.

For the second year in a row NATH is asking local businesses to help out with the "Everybody Deserves Shelter" campaign.

"The store should have a poster in them that shows they're participating in this. And then hopefully when you go through the checkout the cashier will ask you if you'd like to donate a dollar toward 'Everybody Deserves Shelter' and Frederick Place. If you agree you'll get a little card that you can put your name on and get to hang it up in the store," says Tammy Modic, Frederick Place Executive Director.

Modic says they want to spread the word about what NATH and Frederick Place does. They're also hoping to raise $5,000.

There are nearly three times as many businesses participating this year in Rhinelander alone. So far stores, schools and restaurants from Eagle River, Minocqua and Lac du Flambeau are helping out too.
