Wausau Homicide Case Moves Forward Submitted: 10/19/2012

WAUSAU - After hearing graphic testimony about how Zachary Froelich allegedly beat and killed a Wausau man, a judge ordered there is enough evidence to head to trial.

18-year-old Froelich is one of two men accused of beating Kerby Kneiss to death with a baseball bat in June.

Froelich was charged with seven felonies including first degree reckless homicide.

Detective Nathan Cihlar with the Wausau Police Department said he found Kneiss (kah-niece) unresponsive in his garage with multiple head injuries.


When asked if Mr. Froelich indicated how many times he struck Kneiss, Cihlar said five times.

When police arrested Froelich and Warren Krohn they found a baseball bat covered in blood.

Both men are currently being held in the Marathon County jail.

A judge did not set a date for Froelich’s next court appearance.

The study also says Wisconsin's main industries aren't as globally minded as are manufacturers elsewhere.

LINCOLN COUNTY - The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office needs your help.

Investigators want to talk to anyone who was near Anita Bucki's home between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. on April 26.

That's the day she went missing. Her husband, Mark Bucki, has been charged in her murder.

Lieutenant Tim Fischer says he specifically wants to talk to anyone who may have seen a large fire that morning.

RHINELANDER - Thousands lost power in the northwoods, thanks to heavy storms last night.

Wisconsin Public service says 5-thousand customers were without electricity right after the storm yesterday.

2-thousand were still out early this morning, but almost everyone should have service back now.

The Rhinelander area was hardest hit.

ST. GERMAIN - Doctors don't know why they're diagnosing more and more children with autism. It’s hard to know what therapy works best for each child.

Today at Camp AweSum in St. Germain, kids on the Autism Spectrum got a chance to interact with horses.

"I saw him smiling up there, just kind of spontaneously. I think the horse kinda shook and he thought that was kinda funny," said Becky Howell-Adams, the mother of a 9 year old with autism.

For some autistic children smiles are hard to come by. Making a connection like that people or animals is special.

Local Reps Discuss Budget Submitted: 06/17/2013

WAUSAU - The General Assembly takes up the budget Tuesday. Monday, some local representatives and school officials talked to the public about why they believe the budget will hurt schools.

Democratic representatives Mandy Wright and Katrina Shankland spoke in Wausau today.

Shankland, who represents Stevens Point, stated, "In the last session, Republicans took over 1.6 billion dollars from our public education. They robbed our students of $550 in aid per student. And in this budget, they only return $150. That simply is not acceptable."

SUGAR CAMP - You can drive an ATV through practically anything; Snow, mud, water and soon, on Sugar Camp's roads.

Monday, the Sugar Camp Town Board decided to allow ATVs on its roads.

All ATV drivers must wear helmets and license their vehicles.

But even with those rules, some residents still think ATVs on the roads will be dangerous.
