RHINELANDER - There's no rest for the weary.

A few hours after debating Tommy Thompson -- U.S. Senate candidate Tammy Baldwin stopped in Rhinelander to meet with supporters and local businesses.

Baldwin was joined by the man she wants to replace - current U.S. Senator Herb Kohl.

They stopped by Danner's Shoes, Diane's Frame Shoppe, and the Rhinelander Cafe and Pub.

"There's nothing that beats the opportunity to have one-on-one conversations or small group conversations, to tour factories like I have in this community," Baldwin said.

"To listen to workers about their concerns that's much more powerful than any ad you'll see on TV or hear on the radio."

Baldwin will be aggressive the rest of the way, visiting multiple parts of the state - especially since early voting starts Monday.

Kohl says she's a perfect successor.

"She's a great fighter for middle-class families, for young people, for education, for manufacturing," Kohl said.

"She's a great advocate for health care for everybody. She works hard, she stands up for things that I appreciate and value and she will be a great successor."

Governor Tommy Thompson will be in Minocqua tomorrow to visit supporters.

The two debate again next Friday in Milwaukee.
