RHINELANDER - A mobile spay and neuter clinic in Rhinelander has new wheels thanks to a contest by Toyota and the many Facebook fans who voted for them.

"The-Fix-is-In" is a low-cost option for pet owners to spay or neuter cats and dogs. The non-profit works out of different host sites transporting their own equipment, supplies and veterinarian.

"Today we're here in Rhinelander at T&M Kennels,” said Alexandra Pelley with The Fix Is In, “We also have a location in Wausau, Crandon, Lac du Flambeau, and we're constantly expanding and looking for other host sites."

All the clinic needs to set up shop is a host site to volunteer space and electricity. But a mobile operation needs wheels. That's where Toyota came in.

Each year the auto company gives away “100 Cars For Good” and this year, The Fix Is In was voted as one of the winners.

With their new car they plan to expand their outreach. Already local humane societies are giving them thanks.

"Since we've been able to help them with their spay/neuter they've been able to turn around more adoptions because they've been able to get the animals out the door faster, to their new homes… And then they can take in more animals as well. So we're already seeing a difference," said Pelley.
