Famous Lucy to Visit Oneida County Fair Submitted: 08/01/2012

MERRILL - The Oneida County Fair starts tomorrow. Aside from the regular attractions like food, and rides, Saturday you can meet one special girl unlike any other.

Her name is Lucy. She's kind of famous. That's because Lucy has two noses.

"He came out of the barn and was laughing. I looked at him and was like, 'Ok what's so funny?' He tells me to go look in the barn, and here she is with two noses. I'm like, 'I can't believe this!'" says Kim Krombholz, from the Krombholz Family Farm.

That was five years ago. Since then she's become a celebrity, making her rounds at county fairs and church festivals. She's drawn attention from people overseas... she even got a letter from the Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

So is the extra nose just for show?

"Both noses work. One of our vets came out, and she can actually breathe in one nose and out the other, and they're both functional. The little flap in the middle goes up and down like that," says Krombholz.

Fairgoers can feed Lucy, take pictures with her, even buy a T-Shirt with her face on it. Kim Krombholz says Lucy loves the attention.

If you'd like to see Lucy she'll be at the fair Saturday starting at noon.

TOWN OF UNITY, WI - An elderly man from central Wisconsin killed in a terrifying crash when a train crashes into his van.

Charles Podbelsek, 81, was driving on a Clark County Road Tuesday morning.

When he approached the railroad crossing he did not stop at the stop sign and hit a Canadian National train.

His Caravan was thrown from the crossing, landed on its roof, and Podbelsek was thrown from the van.

But in Eagle River, the Olson Library is busier than ever.

The library's foundation started planning for expansion in 2007.

It held an open house to begin its next step in fundraising Tuesday.

Closing one of Rhinelander's major streets could create a big headache.

But we learned today that major construction on Kemp Street won't start until after July 4th.

The city and contractors decided today to start the Kemp Street part of their sewer project during the week of July 8th.

City Council votes to recognize domestic partnerships Submitted: 06/18/2013

STEVENS POINT - Stevens Point moved one step closer to recognizing same-sex partnerships last night.

The city council voted to offer domestic partner benefits for city workers.

The change would allow city workers to cover their partners under their health insurance. It would apply to both same-sex and opposite-sex couples.

Milwaukee, Madison and Racine are among Wisconsin cities that allow something similar.

MILWAUKEE - Home sales in Wisconsin continue to rise.

The Wisconsin Realtors Association says May sales are up about 18 percent compared to the same month last year.

It's the 23rd consecutive month of growth.

Prices are up as well.

The median price last month was 144-thousand dollars.

Rhinelander again welcomes American flag downtown Submitted: 06/18/2013

RHINELANDER - A huge American flag flying over Rhinelander fills most of us with pride.

Last year, city leaders tried to put a flag up on the AT&T tower in downtown Rhinelander.

But it was too big.

AT&T is hoping this 15x25 foot flag will be a better fit.

Today was the third attempt to get a flag to fly on the downtown cell tower.
