WAUSAU - With a primary election coming in August, we've now talked to three of the four Republican U.S. Senate Candidates as they pass through our area.

Friday it was Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Jeff Fitzgerald.

Each candidate seems to have created his own brand - former governor Tommy Thompson the tried-and-true Wisconsin leader, former congressman Mark Neumann the true conservative, and Eric Hovde the unafraid Washington attacker.

So what's Fitzgerald's brand?

"I'm the Walker Republican in this race," Fitzgerald said. "Myself and the Governor are closely tied together. I was able to usher through the reforms that we put through this last session which were very difficult, but got this state back on the right track."

Fitzgerald wants to duplicate what Walker and the Republicans have done in the state on a national level.

"We just did it here in Wisconsin," Fitzgerald said. "We made the tough choices. We got the state back on the right track. We need to go out to Washington, D.C. and do the same thing. I think when you talk to people, those are the biggest concerns on their minds. It's still jobs and the economy."

Fitzgerald is currently running third or last in most polls.
